Welcome to the first event of the Stripe Kampala community.

This is the launch of a new home for founders, developers, operators, and builders across Kampala and East Africa who are working on the future of business, payments, and technology in the region — and it doubles as a founder's journey session: an honest, in-depth conversation with Dr Sserunjongi Emma, Founder, Videmak, Inc., on what it actually takes to build locally and scale globally with Stripe.

We'll hear how Dr Sserunjongi built Videmak Inc. from the ground up, the real challenges of raising capital and scaling a business, and how Stripe's infrastructure supported that growth — followed by an open roundtable where attendees bring their own questions.

This is also a seed member event — the people in the room will help define what this community stands for. We'll close the session by co-writing our community principles together and setting the direction for how the Stripe Kampala community grows from here.
