Johannesburg Innovation League Online Launch
Building the Next Generation of Internet Businesses in Africa
We are opening the next chapter of the community through the online launch of the Stripe Community Johannesburg Innovation League.
The Innovation League is a continuing platform for founders, developers, designers, product leaders, students and emerging businesses who want to build, test and strengthen the next generation of African internet businesses.
This online gathering is for people who attended the Johannesburg launch, those who participated remotely, and everyone who wanted to join but could not be accommodated at the physical venue.
During the session, we will:
- Reflect on the inaugural Johannesburg Stripe Community gathering and its live hackathon.
- Introduce the purpose and structure of the Johannesburg Innovation League.
- Explain how community members can participate in League challenges and activities.
- Walk participants through the application process on Sandbox Africa.
- Discuss the kinds of products, businesses and problems the League will explore.
- Answer questions from prospective builders and community members.
- Share the next steps following the launch.
The Innovation League is intended to create continuity beyond individual events. It will connect community, practical building, commercial thinking and collaborative problem-solving through an ongoing programme of challenges, product development and ecosystem participation.
Participation requirement
Participation in the Johannesburg Innovation League requires membership of the Johannesburg Stripe Community.
Joining this online launch does not automatically guarantee admission into the League. Participants will still need to complete the published application process.
Whether you are a founder developing a new company, a developer building products, a designer shaping user experiences, a student looking for practical exposure, or a professional who wants to contribute expertise, you are welcome to join us.
The physical launch may take place in one room, but the community and the opportunity to build extend far beyond it.
